Conference "Meet Japan" (Meet JAPAN 2023) in Hanoi

On November 2, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and the Organizing Committee to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan to organize the Conference "Meeting Japan 2023".

The conference is part of a series of activities organized annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support localities in strengthening international integration and attracting external resources to serve socio-economic development.
Attending the Conference on the Vietnamese side were Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Director of the Foreign Investment Department, Ministry of Planning and Investment Do Nhat Hoang and representatives of leaders of functional units of central ministries and branches. ; Provincial leaders and departments, branches and branches of 63 provinces and cities across the country and many Vietnamese businesses.

On the Japanese side, there was Japanese Ambassador in Vietnam Yamada Takio, representative of the Japanese Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City and the Japanese Consular Office in Da Nang; along with hundreds of delegates from Japanese agencies and organizations (JETRO, JICA, Japan Foundation, JNTO, JASSO, JCCI, JCCH, JCCD, etc), corporations, businesses and Japanese news agencies Vietnamese version, etc.
The program "Meeting Japan 2023" in Hanoi is one of a series of activities to practically celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023). This is an opportunity for localities and Japanese partners to evaluate the results of cooperation in the past and the direction of cooperation in the future. At the same time, promote economic diplomacy activities, attract foreign direct investment capital as well as widely promote the image of Vietnam and contribute to strengthening relationships between regions with Japanese partners, thereby contributing to promoting the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.

Within the framework of the Conference, there are three thematic sessions with topics of current interest to both sides including enhancing trade - investment, cooperation in education - training and human resources, cultural and tourism cooperation. In particular, delegates focused on discussing a number of outstanding areas of cooperation such as agriculture, digital transformation, smart cities, etc. In addition, the Organizing Committee arranged hundreds of meetings (G2G, G2B) between local leaders and Vietnamese businesses with the Japanese Ambassador, Japanese agencies, businesses and partners so that the two sides can share the results of cooperation that need to be promoted and the problems that arise need to be resolved and especially specific and practical cooperation ideas for the new period of cooperation.
Attending this Conference, Quang Tri had representatives of leaders of departments and branches: Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Education and Training, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Planning and Investment, Economic Zone Authority and Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency.
Representatives of Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency had a meeting and connected directly with representatives of Hitachi Zosen Corporation to promote and invite investment in the energy sector and environment treatment.
In addition, Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency also coordinated to organize a meeting and direct connection between Quang Tri Development Consortium Co., Ltd (QTIP) and Irabaki province's leadership representatives in the Kanto region - a province with a lot of potential and businesses operating in Vietnam province. Attending were representatives of Sumitomo Group (QTIP's shareholder) from the Japanese headquarters. The representative of Irabaki province highly appreciated the potential of Quang Tri province and the attractiveness of QTIP, and expected to arrange a local survey as soon as possible.

Within the framework of the Conference, Quang Tri Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency presided over the organization of 02 display tables to promote and introduce OCOP products, typical products of Quang Tri province; Provide, support and promote information, images, and introduce attractive tourist destinations of Quang Tri province bilingually in Vietnamese - English; Providing publications: handbooks, maps, Quang Tri travel bags; Travel-themed folders; Investment Promotion Handbook so that visitors have the most complete information about Quang Tri province, thereby creating a good impression on visitors at the booth. In one day, the Vietnam - Japan product promotion activity attracted more than 1,000 people to visit and learn.
