Quang Tri boost trade with the two border Provinces of Laos

(TBTCO) – People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province issued the Decision on the plan on cooperating with Savannakhet and Salavan Provinces of Laos during 2017 – 2019, including many committed targets on economic development, import – export facilitation, fighting against smuggling and commercial frauds, etc.
As for economic development and investment, People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province has the policy of enhancing investment promotion, improving the investment efficiency of Quang Tri’s enterprises in Laos; elaborating a plan on the implementation of the Trade Agreement and the Cross - border Trade Agreement between the Vietnamese and the Laos Governments.
Quang Tri focuses on attracting investment to develop the cross – border and  border gates trading systems; cooperating with Provinces of Laos to promote, encourage and create favorable conditions in accordance with each country's laws and regulations so that enterprises of both countries can invest in cultivation, husbandry, exploitation, processing, commodity trading…
Also in this Decision, the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province directed the departments, functional forces, including the customs authorities to continue to reform administrative procedures, effectively implement the “single - window and single - stop inspection” model at Lao Bao - Den Sa Van international border gates, thereby facilitate the import and export activities, cut the clearance time for enterprises.
In addition, the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province also suggested the functional agencies and local authorities along the border to coordinate to monitor, control, prevent and fight against criminal offences of causing insecurity; trafficking drug, weapons and natural resources, illegal entry/exit  in an organized  manner.
