The central province of Quang Tri is striving to attract investment in the field of renewable energy, especially wind power, to turn the locality into an energy hub by 2030.

Goods imported and exported via La Lay and Lao Bao international border gates in the central province of Quang Tri have surged, particularly after the Lunar New Year holiday. The customs sub-department of the La Lay border gate in Dakrong district recorded 4,404 vehicles carrying goods via the border gate between January 1 and February 20, up 66 percent year on year.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on January 15 for the construction of the first phase of Hai Lang liquefied natural gas (LNG) power plant in Hai An commune in the central province of Quang Tri's Hai Lang district.

The administration of central Quang Tri province has approved in principle three wind power projects with total capital approximating 5.8 trillion VND (251.7 million USD).
