Groundbreaking ceremony of VSICO Quang Tri Dry Port Project at Lao Bao International Border Gate

On March 25, 2025, at Lao Bao International Border Gate, Huong Hoa District, VSICO Maritime Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for VSICO Quang Tri Dry Port Project. Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien attended.
The VSICO Quang Tri Dry Port is designed with a cargo clearance capacity of 3.5 million tons/year, of which the container cargo output is 100,000 TEU/year; the bulk cargo output is 1,000,000 tons/year; the annual revenue is estimated at 200 billion VND, contributing 25 billion VND to the state budget.
The dry port area is invested with 5 cargo handling cranes, 5 bulk cargo leveling equipment, and 2 weighing stations; Maximum receiving capacity of 1,000 vehicles per day for export and import; the project will officially come into operation in the first quarter of 2026.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized: Currently, the demand for transporting goods on the East-West Economic Corridor through Quang Tri seaports and seaports in the Central region is increasing day by day. Therefore, investing in the construction and completion of a synchronous transport infrastructure system, including a system of dry ports, has become a very urgent issue. At the same time, he expressed his great confidence and expectations for businesses that have decided to invest in Quang Tri province.
