Quang Tri: Committed to improving the investment environment and accompanying businesses in their development

The GRDP of businesses in Quang Tri Province is expected to reach 28,000 billion VND in 2024, contributing approximately 65.7% to the province's GRDP.

Enterprises are developing both in "quantity" and "quality."
In recent years, Quang Tri Province has consistently worked to create a favorable and open investment and business environment. Provincial leaders have focused on directing sectors and localities to actively improve the quality of investment promotion activities, attracting investment while implementing business environment reforms. At the same time, the province has implemented numerous policies to support businesses. As a result, businesses in the province have been growing in both quantity and quality.
Quang Tri Province currently has over 3,408 active enterprises with a total registered capital of more than 70,000 billion VND. The total product (GRDP) of businesses in the province is expected to reach 28,000 billion VND in 2024, contributing approximately 65.7% to the provincial GRDP. The structure, scale, and business sectors are evolving in line with the direction of economic restructuring, providing resources for development investment. Notably, many large investment projects are being implemented, making a positive contribution to the economic and social development.
In 2024, the socio-economic situation and national defense-security in Quang Tri Province have achieved significant results in various areas. The total product in the province increased by 5.82% in the first 9 months compared to the same period in 2023. The total budget revenue as of September 30 reached over 3,260 billion VND, 123.5% of the same period in 2023. The total mobilized capital in the province by September 30 reached 39,700 billion VND, an increase of 8.96% compared to the end of 2023.
So far, 75 out of 101 communes in the province have achieved the new rural standards. Key programs and major projects have been focused on with determined leadership, resulting in positive changes.
Determined to create a favorable business environment
Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Vo Van Hung, acknowledged that despite the achievements, there are still many difficulties and challenges. Enterprises in the province have not developed in proportion to their potential and advantages. Most businesses are small-scale, with limited industry diversification, and few directly produce products that leverage the province's strengths. Additionally, many businesses face difficulties in production and business operations, and the application of science and technology and brand building have not been prioritized. As a result, the competitiveness of products in the market remains limited.
"Quang Tri Province always considers businesses as the core, pioneering force, and an important driving factor in achieving the province's socio-economic development goals. With the spirit of always accompanying and supporting businesses, in the future, the provincial government will continue to create the most favorable conditions for businesses and entrepreneurs to grow and succeed. The province is committed to further improving the investment environment, simplifying administrative procedures, and enhancing policy support to ensure fairness and transparency in all business activities," Chairman Vo Van Hung affirmed.
The leadership of Quang Tri Province also believes that with a spirit of innovation, creativity, and dynamism, the business community and entrepreneurs in Quang Tri will continue to play a leading and pioneering role in the economic front and international economic integration. They will continually improve management skills, enhance competitiveness, actively innovate, and foster strong development through cooperation. They will focus on effective business operations, contributing more to the development of both the province and the nation.
"On the afternoon of October 11th, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee organized a meeting with businesses on the occasion of Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day, October 13th. During the event, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 8 organizations and 17 individuals who made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Quang Tri. The Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises also presented certificates of merit to 20 individuals from the Provincial Business Association for their outstanding achievements in building and developing the association."
