Quang Tri Province worked with Vietnam Logistics Association (VLA)

In order to realize the goal of making Quang Tri a regional and international logistics center by 2030, on August 8, 2024, the Quang Tri Provincial Delegation led by Mr. Le Duc Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with Vietnam Logistics Association (VLA) at the VLA Representative Office in Da Nang. The delegation was joined by representatives of the Provincial Economic Zone Authority and the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency.

Attending the meeting on behalf of VLA were Mr. Tran Chi Dung, General Secretary of VLA, leaders of VLA Da Nang Representative Office and a number of enterprises operating in the field of national and international Logistics. Participating in the online meeting was Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hoa - Director of Vietnam Logistics Research and Development Institute (VLI).
Quang Tri is located in the midpoint of Vietnam where all routes from the South to the North pass through, and is the first point of Vietnam on the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Central Vietnam. The two above traffic axes with the focus on Quang Tri province have created a balanced and favorable economic triangle of the region, optimally shortening the time and distance of goods transportation. Quang Tri province is connected to the neighboring airport and seaport systems by synchronous and modern transportation systems that have been invested in, such as Cam Lo - La Son Expressway (formed), Cam Lo - Van Ninh Expressway (under construction), Cam Lo - Lao Bao Expressway, National Highway 15D (under construction), National Highway 9 (formed), etc. In particular, the province is also working with capable investors to build the My Thuy deep-water seaport system and Quang Tri airport, creating a proactive position in local transportation and logistics.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien introduced the province's potential and advantages; the planning and development orientation of the province's Logistics industry in recent years. This is an important legal basis for arranging space, attracting investment, allocating development resources, and is the basis for sectors and localities to implement the goal of developing Quang Tri province into a new regional freight transit center and a connecting point for the Central region with countries on the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC). The working session was the first step for Quang Tri province and the Association to cooperate and research solutions to support and create a stable investment environment for logistics enterprises in the province in the coming years.

Through the discussion, on behalf of the Association, Mr. Tran Chi Dung hopes to accompany Quang Tri province in the coming time to strengthen cooperation and strongly promote activities in the field of logistics in Quang Tri province.

Representatives of enterprises participating in the working session actively discussed, evaluated and pointed out the advantages, difficulties and obstacles in the process of transporting goods through border gates in Quang Tri such as legal corridors, infrastructure and human resources. Enterprises also expressed their desire to build a modern and smooth logistics model in all aspects.
