On April 6, 2026, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Le Duc Tien, held a courtesy meeting with a delegation from the HunterNet Association (Australia). The meeting was also attended by representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
At the meeting, Mr. Tim Owen, Chairman of the HunterNet Association, introduced the organization as a network of more than 180 member enterprises, playing a key role in connecting businesses with government bodies, as well as training and research institutions. HunterNet aims to foster growth, innovation, and sustainable development through collaboration. Its member companies operate across a wide range of sectors, including energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, defense, logistics, environment, and high technology. The association also supports enterprises in accessing projects and integrating into global supply chains, particularly in high-value industries such as advanced manufacturing, energy, and defense.
In addition, Quang Tri also has great potential for developing clean energy, abundant white sand reserves, creating a foundation for deploying wind and solar power projects; science and technology and semiconductor materials industry are also identified as one of the long-term breakthrough areas.
Vice Chairman Le Duc Tien welcomed these proposals and expressed his expectation that HunterNet would strengthen cooperation with Quang Tri in key sectors such as renewable energy, clean energy development including green hydrogen and methanol, semiconductor materials, and seaport connectivity.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman Le Duc Tien shared an overview of Quang Tri’s development potential, advantages, and strategic orientation. Following administrative adjustments, the province now covers an area of approximately 12,700 km² with a population of over 1.8 million, creating expanded development space and strengthened resources. Quang Tri holds a strategic location at the intersection of the East - West and North - South economic corridors, with three international border gates - Lao Bao, La Lay, and Cha Lo - linked to key seaports, including My Thuy, Cua Viet, and Hon La. This integrated transport network from border to sea facilitates efficient connectivity and enhances regional and international trade flows.In addition, Quang Tri also has great potential for developing clean energy, abundant white sand reserves, creating a foundation for deploying wind and solar power projects; science and technology and semiconductor materials industry are also identified as one of the long-term breakthrough areas.

Mr. Tim Owen expressed his appreciation for Quang Tri’s development prospects, particularly in deep-water seaports, renewable energy, and materials for high-tech industries. He also indicated HunterNet’s interest in exploring future cooperation opportunities, including expanding business networks, participating in Southeast Asian supply chains, and conducting surveys of the My Thuy seaport area.
