Implementing the investment promotion program of Quang Tri province in 2024, on October 3, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Quang Tri Provincial Delegation led by Mr. Vo Van Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with Eni Vietnam Company (Eni Vietnam). The delegation was joined by representatives of relevant authorities.

At the meeting, Mr. Giacomo Spadini - CEO of Eni Vietnam updated information and the situation of Eni Vietnam's business development activities as well as cooperation activities in exploitation at the sea in the recent past, as well as the plan to implement activities on energy conversion, clean stoves for the community, and sustainable forestry development with Quang Tri province. In addition, Eni Vietnam also requested Quang Tri province to promptly complete the related procedures to sign an extension of the memorandum of understanding in order to implement the activities as soon as possible.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung informed Eni Vietnam Company about the socio-economic development situation of the province, especially the development orientations as well as the progress of implementing important technical infrastructure projects serving the cooperation with Eni Vietnam such as My Thuy seaport project, Quang Tri airport, coastal road, development of expressway 15D. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Eni Vietnam to continue to coordinate with Quang Tri province to promote sustainable forest use and increase forest carbon reserves; Support Quang Tri to build a number of livelihood development models for people living near forests, prioritize the development of medicinal plant cultivation under natural forest canopy, while conserving biodiversity and bringing common benefits to the local community.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung also requested Eni to soon have a plan to implement the contents of expanding the scope of the Memorandum of Understanding, including initiatives on energy crops and utilizing agricultural, agro-industrial and forestry by-products to use as raw materials for the bio-refinery.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung also invited the Executive Director of Eni Vietnam to visit and work with Quang Tri province to sign an extension of the Memorandum of Understanding and discuss the cooperation program in the coming time. The Executive Director of Eni Vietnam happily accepted the invitation to visit Quang Tri province at a suitable time.
