To implement the key tasks program for 2024, on the morning of September 13, 2024, Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee organized the 2024 Business Dialogue Conference at Saigon-Dong Ha Hotel. The conference was chaired by Mr. Vo Van Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The conference was attended by leaders of various departments, agencies, and representatives of over 500 businesses and investors in the province.
In his opening speech at the conference, Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated that in order to successfully achieve socio-economic development goals, Quang Tri Province has always recognized businesses as a core and pioneering force. The provincial government regularly meets with businesses to understand their situations, engage in discussions, and promptly address any difficulties or obstacles they face. As a result, the business community and entrepreneurs in Quang Tri Province have grown stronger, both in terms of quantity and quality, making significant contributions to economic growth, creating employment opportunities for workers, and effectively carrying out the work of gratitude and support for the local community.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Mr. Ha Sy Dong, delivered the opening speech.
The Provincial People's Committee hopes that businesses and investors will actively and candidly contribute their opinions through today's conference, allowing the provincial government to understand the concerns, aspirations, and challenges of businesses and investors in the area. Based on the recommendations of businesses, relevant departments and agencies will strive to consider these suggestions and address any questions promptly. After the conference, the Quang Tri provincial government will continue to accompany investors and businesses to help create a favorable investment and business environment.
Currently, the province has over 3,408 active businesses with a total registered investment capital of 70,000 billion VND. In the first 8 months of 2024, 251 new businesses were registered with a total investment capital of nearly 2 billion VND. The total product (GRDP) of businesses in the province in 2024 is expected to reach 28,000 billion VND, contributing approximately 65.7% of the province's GRDP.

Representatives from various departments and agencies were present at the meeting to respond to the suggestions and concerns from enterprises and investors.
Immediately after that, the conference entered the dialogue session between businesses and the provincial government. Many questions were raised, stemming from the daily production and business activities of companies. Some notable issues included: specific solutions and support from departments and agencies to accompany businesses in the context of the difficult economic situation; sectors and industries that businesses should prioritize for development; legal support for businesses; fire prevention and fighting efforts; proposals to revive the Lao Bao Special Economic Zone; issues related to issuing land use certificates in the Vincom Urban Area; the circulation of goods at the La Lay border gate; tax inspection and audits; the operation of government vessels at Con Co Island; and customs and border procedures at the border gates.
After listening to the questions from businesses, representatives from various departments and agencies took turns addressing the concerns and suggestions from the companies regarding issues within their authority. The representatives highlighted the efforts of all levels of government in advising, proposing, and implementing numerous policies to support the business community in recent times. They also emphasized the simplification of administrative procedures to create a more transparent and favorable investment and business environment.

Mr. Truong Chi Trung, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, responded regarding the support provided by the provincial government to accompany the business community in recent times.
Ms. Le Nguyen Huyen Trang, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, responded regarding the support policies for workers and enterprises in the province.
Concluding the conference, the Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Vo Van Hung, praised the efforts of businesses and investors in contributing to the development of the province, while emphasizing that the growth of businesses is a driving force for the province’s development. Therefore, the challenges faced by businesses are also the responsibility of the government at all levels. With a spirit of listening and openness, the Chairman, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged all the suggestions from businesses. Any questions that were not answered during today’s conference can be sent to the two main agencies: the Provincial People's Committee Office and the Department of Planning and Investment. Chairman Vo Van Hung also quickly directed the establishment of a Zalo channel specifically for receiving inquiries from businesses and investors in the province. However, he also emphasized that development requires a process, and the business community in the province needs to be more proactive in utilizing the province’s potential to invest, produce, and engage in business in breakthrough and priority areas to promote the comprehensive development of the province.
