On July 6, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee organized a conference on the announcement of Quang Tri Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050.

The conference was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, along with 500 delegates, including leaders of the Party, State, central government agencies, Quang Tri province, neighboring provinces, representatives of investment promotion organizations, diplomatic agencies, investors, and businesses from within the province, across the country, and internationally.
In his opening speech at the conference, Mr. Vo Van Hung, Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, stated that, in recent times, Quang Tri province has focused on strong leadership, decisive direction, and the serious and timely implementation of planning using a new approach. In addition to collaborating with experienced domestic planning consultancy organizations, the province has also taken advantage of support from international planning consultancy organizations.

The provincial planning has set the goal that by 2030, Quang Tri will reach a level of development that places it among the relatively developed provinces of the country, with an economic structure primarily based on industry and services. It aims to become one of the key economic centers of the North Central and Central Coast regions, as well as a logistics and goods transshipment hub for Southeast Asia and transport corridors within ASEAN, the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
The vision for 2050 is for Quang Tri to become a province with a strong economy, primarily based on industry and services, and one of the driving forces of development in the North Central and Central Coast regions.
To effectively implement the planning, Quang Tri province will urgently complete its plan, establish a roadmap for implementation, identify key areas and resources for executing the programs and projects in the plan, and finalize the sub-regional and detailed planning.
In addition, the province will focus on mobilizing, allocating, and effectively utilizing all resources for socio-economic development and investment attraction. Efforts will be made to harness and unlock resources from both domestic and foreign economic sectors, and to attract FDI and ODA funding to invest in infrastructure in a modern and smart direction.
In his speech at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged and congratulated the significant achievements of Quang Tri's Party, government, military, and people. He affirmed that with its rich cultural and historical heritage, Quang Tri has great potential to become a relatively developed province in the North Central and Central Coast regions, and the whole country. Quang Tri is well-positioned for rapid and sustainable development, becoming an attractive destination for investors, with a focus on becoming the clean energy center of Central Vietnam and making tourism a key economic sector.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the Quang Tri Provincial Planning has been meticulously and systematically prepared, scientifically developed, and opens up new development opportunities for the next 10 years, with a vision for the next 20 years. This plan is based on breakthrough thinking, long-term vision, and leveraging the province's unique potential, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages from its natural resources, people, cultural traditions, and history, while addressing the province's existing limitations and challenges.
To achieve the objectives of the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision for 2050, the Deputy Prime Minister required the province to urgently implement the planning with an action program and specific plans. The province should organize the implementation of the tasks outlined in the planning, including four breakthrough areas, eight key sectors, development across four regions, and six economic corridors.
For central ministries, agencies, and localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions, the Deputy Prime Minister called for strengthened monitoring and effective coordination in implementing the Quang Tri Provincial Planning. They must be ready to work with Quang Tri to resolve any difficulties related to mechanisms, policies, human resources, and administrative procedures.
The government will instruct ministries and agencies to continue researching appropriate mechanisms and policies to create favorable conditions for Quang Tri's rapid, comprehensive, and sustainable development in the coming years.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, expressed gratitude and fully acknowledged the directive comments made by the Deputy Prime Minister. He committed to studying and incorporating these suggestions into the implementation plan for the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision for 2050.
He also affirmed that immediately after the conference, the Provincial People's Committee would urgently finalize the plan and establish a specific roadmap to implement the tasks, directions, and planning ideas. This will focus on effectively implementing strategic and breakthrough solutions to achieve the set goals and tasks, with full responsibility, determination, and the highest resolve to turn these goals into reality for a prosperous and developed Quang Tri.
At the conference, the Provincial People's Committee handed over investment decisions, investor approvals/investment certificates for 9 projects with a total registered capital of over 4,400 billion VND; granted the approval for the pre-feasibility study reports for 2 PPP projects with a total investment of over 21,000 billion VND; and approved 5 projects for research and proposal surveys. Certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee were awarded to several individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to the provincial planning work.

As part of the conference, the Provincial People's Committee also organized side activities, including: a display space showcasing information and documents summarizing the provincial planning, the provincial planning maps, and key investment attraction projects; a space featuring information, documents, and images introducing the nature, culture, land, and people of Quang Tri province; promotional materials about the province’s investment, trade, and tourism activities; and a display introducing the province's typical OCOP products.
