Quang Tri is fully prepared with the best conditions to welcome both domestic and international "eagles" (investors) into the province's key sectors and major projects.
Clearly define the advantages of Quang Tri.
In recent years, leveraging its unique potential and competitive advantages, Quang Tri, a land rich in cultural and historical traditions, has been taking full advantage of its strategic location on the East-West Economic Corridor, connecting with Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar through the Lao Bao international border gate. As the gateway to the East Sea for countries in the region, Quang Tri has been gradually transforming to attract investment and develop its socio-economic landscape.
In particular, Decision No. 1737/QD-TTg dated December 29, 2023, by the Prime Minister, approving the Quang Tri Province Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, has opened up new opportunities and created momentum for Quang Tri to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming a reliable and attractive destination for investors.
Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee organized a conference to announce the provincial master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, on July 6, 2024.

According to the Quang Tri Province Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, the goal is to build Quang Tri into a clean energy hub of Central Vietnam, with tourism as a key economic sector. The plan focuses on building quality and efficient logistics infrastructure, developing advanced technology and high-tech manufacturing industries, and promoting commodity agriculture using advanced and high-tech methods, as well as ecological and organic farming. The province aims to become one of the economic centers of the North Central Coast and Central Coast regions, a logistics and cargo transshipment hub for Southeast Asia, ASEAN transportation corridors, and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) by 2030. By 2050, Quang Tri strives to become a province with a strong economy, primarily driven by industry and services, and a key growth engine for the North Central Coast and Central Coast regions.
Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Vo Van Hung, affirmed that the Quang Tri Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, clearly positions the province on the national development map, outlining its potentials, strengths, opportunities, and challenges. This strategic development plan aims to shape a comprehensive, inclusive, and long-term growth path. It represents Quang Tri’s aspirations and confidence. The province is committed to a “green” and sustainable development approach, balancing economic growth with environmental protection and adapting to climate change. Notably, the province focuses on attracting external resources in three main pillars: industry, agriculture, and tourism. Among these, energy industry is the breakthrough sector, agriculture serves as the foundation, and tourism is the spearhead.
To gradually realize the Master Plan, the province is developing a detailed implementation plan and roadmap, identifying key contents, timelines, and resources for executing the programs and projects outlined in the plan. It aims to complete the sub-regional plans, detailed plans, and specialized technical plans to ensure synchronization and readiness for attracting investment.
Focus on allocating and utilizing all available resources for economic and social development, attracting investment, and unlocking potential resources; mobilize FDI and ODA capital to invest in modern, smart infrastructure; prioritize investment resources and key projects with a spillover effect to create new development spaces and ensure sustainable growth. In addition, continue to strengthen administrative reforms, improve the business investment environment, and enhance provincial competitiveness.
Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee and the investor consortium T&T - Cienco 4 held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Quang Tri Airport construction project.

Currently, the province is focusing on investing in improving transportation infrastructure to enhance regional and inter-regional connectivity. In the coming time, the province will complete the transportation infrastructure system with key projects on roads, expressways, aviation, and deep-water seaports. Among these, the Quang Tri Airport Project broke ground on July 6 and is expected to be completed after 24 months of construction. The project is being built to meet the 4C airport standard, with the capacity to develop and operate Code E aircraft, allowing for irregular international flights as planned. It will also serve as a level 2 military airport, meeting the demand for up to 5 million passengers per year and 25,500 tons of cargo per year.
Create a breakthrough for development
According to Mr. Truong Chi Trung, Director of the Quang Tri Department of Planning and Investment, in order to enhance the attractiveness of investment in the region, Quang Tri Province will continue to focus on improving the investment and business environment and supporting enterprises. Specifically, the province will implement a new model called "business café" to foster closer connections with businesses and investors. Additionally, it will introduce solutions to address difficulties and accelerate the progress of project implementation. On the other hand, the province will also resolutely withdraw from projects that are delayed and negatively impact the investment environment.
Currently, the province is focusing on implementing key projects, which are identified as breakthroughs in accelerating economic and social development, such as: the Quang Tri Airport project; the coastal road project connecting the East-West economic corridor; the eastern bypass of Dong Ha city; completing the procedural documentation and applying for a special mechanism to implement the Cam Lo – La Son expressway project, National Route 15D, and the overall plan for transporting coal from Laos through the La Lay international border gate to My Thuy seaport.
