On March 4, 2025, at the Government Office, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Prime Ministers Ho Duc Phoc and Nguyen Chi Dung chaired the discussion with Korean enterprises.
Participating on the Korean side were Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam, Chairman of the Korean Business Association in Vietnam (KOCHAM) Ko Tae Yeon and leaders of 35 large, typical Korean enterprises investing and doing business in Vietnam. Also attending were leaders of central ministries, branches, some localities and 14 large corporations of Vietnam. On the Quang Tri province side, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong attended.

In 2024, despite the global economic difficulties and challenges, Vietnam attracted more than 7 billion USD in direct investment from Korean investors, bringing the total investment of Korea in Vietnam to 92 billion USD. At the dialogue, Korean enterprises raised a number of recommendations on investment and business for the Vietnamese Government to consider and handle, and representatives of business leaders all wished to develop Vietnam into a global investment center and stronghold. Leading Korean enterprises also raised a number of opinions on the fields in which Korea has strengths and Vietnam is attracting investment: semiconductor industry, green energy, high-tech industry, biotechnology, advanced materials, services, and logistics.

Speaking at the Dialugue Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong informed about the situation of promoting Korean investment in Quang Tri, of which up to now, there are 3 projects in the province with a total registered investment capital of 2.344 billion USD, including the Hai Lang LNG Power Center project, Poong In Vina Garment Manufacturing and Processing Factory, Sangshin Central Vietnam Electronic Components Assembly Factory Project. In 2024, Quang Tri province also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SK E&S Group on investment, trade, energy transition and green growth cooperation, and for the first time signed an MOU with a locality of Korea, the special city of Changwon, on investment and trade cooperation. Investment projects in production and business and investment cooperation activities of Korean enterprises have made positive contributions to the local socio-economic development. The Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Korean enterprises, including the joint venture of Hanwha Group, to effectively implement the Hai Lang LNG project, and at the same time invite, encourage and welcome Korean partners, enterprises and investors to continue to coordinate in surveying and seeking opportunities for investment and business cooperation in Quang Tri province.
In the concluding remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the support and cooperation of Korean partners, enterprises and investors in the past time and hoped that Korean enterprises and investors would continue to invest and implement better investment and business projects to contribute to building a good friendship between Vietnam and Korea, bringing benefits to the people of the two countries. The Prime Minister also directly answered questions and concerns of investors and assigned ministries, central agencies and localities to promptly consider and handle recommendations and proposals from Korean partners and enterprises.
