As part of the 2025 Investment Promotion Program and under the direction of the People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province, the Quang Tri Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Agency (IPA Quang Tri) held a working session on April 22, 2025, with representatives from Jingyi Culture & Technology Group and Shaanxi Guodian New Energy Development Co., Ltd., both from China.
Speaking at the session, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan, Director of IPA Quang Tri, highlighted the province’s prominent investment potential and competitive advantages, including its strategic geography, transportation connectivity, regional linkage, and rapidly improving technical infrastructure—key enablers for socioeconomic development. Accordingly, Quang Tri occupies a vital geo-economic and geopolitical position as the intersection of the North–South and East–West economic corridors. Notably, it is the starting point of the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC), which connects Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar through the Lao Bao International Border Gate. The corridor spans 1,450 km across 13 provinces in four countries, providing Quang Tri with unique leverage in international economic integration.
The province's infrastructure for transportation and industrial development is being increasingly modernized, including road, rail, inland waterways, seaports, and air transport systems. In addition, Quang Tri possesses abundant reserves of high-purity white sand, making it an ideal location for the development of semiconductor materials and solar battery manufacturing facilities. The provincial government is actively calling for investors to establish semiconductor material factories and solar energy batteries.

At the meeting
Regarding renewable energy, Quang Tri has approved 43 wind power projects with a total capacity of 1,800 MW; 03 solar power projects totaling approximately 149.5 MWp (equivalent to 119.6 MW); and 17 hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 260.5 MW. To date, 20 wind power projects (742.2 MW), 03 solar projects (119.6 MW), 10 hydropower projects (167.5 MW), and rooftop solar systems totaling 90.7 MW have been connected to the grid and are operating commercially.
During the discussions, Mr. Shi Wei, representative of Jingyi Culture & Technology Group, expressed strong interest in the province’s investment potential, especially in the power and resource sectors. He also conveyed the group's intention to further explore the electricity market, ongoing power generation projects, and pricing information related to electricity, quartz sand, graphite, and stone ore, as well as provincial investment incentives and policies.
Concluding the session, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan affirmed that this meeting marks the initial step in providing prospective investors with a general overview of the province. IPA Quang Tri stands ready to accompany and support enterprises and investors throughout their process of investment research and project development in the province.
